Chairman of the Board/President/Founder
Casey Hansen serves as the chairman of the Board and President for the Wetzel Foundation. Mr. Hansen is currently a sales director at Capax Global specializing in Enterprise Solutions Sales to fortune 500 companies as well as large federal organizations. He holds a BSM in Finance and an MFIN in Finance from Tulane University – A.B. Freeman School of Business. Casey founded our organization in an effort to assist the families of loved ones in obtaining the necessary education and access to resources that was not readily available to him after his mother was diagnosed with ALS and Dementia.
Vice Chairman, Board of Directors
Ira Hazan is a resident of Sands Point, New York. He is a dedicated Trustee of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in Great Neck, New York where his interests lie in support of cardiology research and the Feinstein Institute. At NS/LIJ he also serves as a member of the Community Relations Committee and has co-chaired the Cardiology Committee. Ira is highly involved in support of neurological disorders and cancer research at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Cold Spring Harbor, New York and is a member of their President’s Council. He is also a longstanding member of YPO/WPO International. Ira is a former treasurer and board member of The Sephardic Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, where he was selected as the 1994 recipient of “The Man of the Year” honor and has served on several committees. He is the former President/CEO of Isaac Hazan & Company – a family owned clothing manufacturer that served the fashion industry for 75 years. Ira is passionate about his family, helping others and giving back.
Board Member/Vice-President
. From 1993 to present, Joseph has served as the Founder of AP Professionals and affiliated companies. He has served as a member of the board of directors and advisory board for various for profit and nonprofit organizations including the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, the Downtown Priest Committee and the Employer Services Corporation. He is actively involved in charitable giving with many nonprofit organizations including Woman and Children’s Hospital, Kids Escaping Drugs, SABAH, Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club, March of Dimes, and more. Joseph will work as needed to accomplish his duties and will not be compensated by our organization.
Board Member/Treasurer
Nilsson Kocher joined the Wetzel Foundation in 2014. Mr. Kocher is currently a Portfolio Manager for Citadel LLC after having helped launch their Global Fixed Income business in 2008. He began his career at Morgan Stanley.
Mr. Kocher became deeply passionate about Forget Me Not’s cause after a very difficult experience helping care for his terminally ill father. He experienced firsthand the many deficiencies in our healthcare system with regard to advanced care, and therefore jumped at this opportunity to make a difference.
Mr. Kocher holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude, and an MBA from Columbia University where he graduated first in his class. He currently resides in Larchmont, NY.
Board Member/Chief Technology Officer
Stefan Sharma joined the Wetzel Foundation in 2014. He will establish our organization’s technical vision and lead all aspects of technological development, direct our strategic direction, development and future growth, act as a steward of our organization’s resources, and ensure control of IT and IO departmental budgets. Stefan joined Savitt Partners in May 2009 and has quickly become an integral member of a highly experienced team of real estate professionals. Prior to joining Savitt Partners, Stefan served as a Financial Statement Analyst at Stiles Lake Investors in New York, where he was responsible for creating analytical income statements and balance sheets for properties considered for acquisition. Stefan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He currently serves on the board of the Sharma Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting various nonprofits such as Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation and Volunteers in Medicine. Stefan will work as needed to accomplish his duties and will not be compensated by our organization.
Susan Lindstrom
Board Member
Susan is the founder of Paper Source, a company that she grew from a single store in Chicago to a company that has 73 locations with 110 million dollars of revenue in 2013. She is extremely passionate about our organization’s mission and goals and will bring her overall business knowledge and experience to our organization. Susan will work as needed to accomplish her duties and will not be compensated by our organization.
Secretary
Bradley Sterns career began at Impala Asset Management as an operations analyst in 2005. Since then we have launched 8 new funds, and has taken over the FX risk management of the firm while fulfilling his role as analyst.
Mr. Stern has been involved with the breast cancer awareness after his Aunt became diagnosed with the disease and has since been an active participant in raising awareness and funding. He has also been in involved in raising awareness for men’s health issues through the Movember Charity.
Mr. Stern holds a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and also achieved a Masters in Finance from the A.B Freeman School of Business.
